Running a plant smoothly with minimal disruptions or abrupt changes while meeting demand in a timely fashion and maintaining minimum inventories is every plant manager’s dream. It is the scheduler’s job to lay out a schedule that meets all these objectives. And of course, one would like a very stable schedule with all the above-stated properties looking forward for months so all other operations can align with the production schedule.
