Arkieva Presents at Society for Hospitality and Food Service Management (SHFM) Critical Issues Conference in New York City
WILMINGTON, DE – April 10, 2019 – Dr. Ken Fordyce, Director of Analytics at Arkieva, gave an invited presentation at the Society for Hospitality and Food Service Management (SHFM) Critical Issues Conference in New York City to over 400 attendees.
SHFM is the premier not for profit professional organization for workplace hospitality expertise. Workplace hospitality covers such areas as coffee, pantries, cafeterias and dining rooms, special functions, and many more. Members of SHFM come from the firms directly (for example the 2019 meeting was hosted by American Express) and firms that support and manage the delivery of this service. Increasingly the ability to provide “hospitality” to employees is a critical component to productivity and retention. Actually delivering quality hospitality is a complicated network.
Each year SHFM runs a critical issues conference (CIC). The theme for 2019 was “Delivering, Measuring, and Mastering” exceptional customer service. Dr. Fordyce was the only non-SHFM professional invited.
Pulling from his past experience as chief statistician for customer satisfaction of IBM software (which included early work on machine learning) and his lengthy background in supply chain management, Dr. Fordyce provided helpful insights into challenges of analyzing the data and the underpinning of customer service to best in class supply chain management to ensure the appropriate estimate of demand and resource allocation.
