Wilmington, DE, 2/26/2016 – Arkieva’s Dr. Ken Fordyce recently participated in the Dagstuhl Seminar, “Modeling and Analysis of Semiconductor Supply Chains” in Wardern Germany. Schloss Dagstuhl is the Leibniz Center for Informatics and of the world’s premier venue for informatics.
World-class scientists, promising young researchers and practitioners come together in small groups to exchange their knowledge and to discuss their research findings. The seminar focused on two topics:
- Novel planning and scheduling approaches that can deal with the complexity and stochasticity of the semiconductor supply chain.
- Future information systems and supply chain management in the semiconductor industry.
Ken presented at the summit, drawing from his more than 30 years of experience in the Semiconductor Industry. His opening day remarks covered:
- Tasks, Purpose, Challenges, and a bit of History for Supply Chain Management Planning
- A Perspective from leading agents of change in the supply chain planning arena
He noted that the Modeling and Analysis of Semiconductor Supply Chains Seminar and topics discussed confirm Dr. Harpal Singh, Arkieva CEO, observations regarding emerging trends and requirements for the next generation of supply chain planning solutions.
Ken notes, “The supply chain for semiconductor packaged goods is representative of the diverse challenges faced by most firms, from process industry, to spare parts manufacturing, to consumer goods. Advances made here are often quickly propagated to other industries”.
